Peanut butter pumpkin dog treats
Ingredients
1 cup pumpkin puree
3 tbsp peanut butter
3 cups gluten free flour, brown rice flour or whole wheat flour
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
2 eggs
½ cup oats
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Combine the flour, cinnamon and oats in a small bowl
- In a separate bowl, stir together the eggs, peanut butter and pumpkin until well combined
- Combine wet and dry ingredients
- Sprinkle flour on the table or countertop
- Pour the mixture
- Dust your hands and the rolling pin with flour and roll dough out to ½ inch thickness
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown
Basic dog biscuits
Ingredients
2 ½ cups whole wheat flour
½ cup hot water
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chicken or beef bouillon granules
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Dissolve bouillon in hot water
- Pour the flour into the mixing bowl. Add the egg, salt and water
- Knead the dough until it forms a ball
- Roll the dough out to ½ inch thickness
- Cut into slices or bone shapes using a cookie cutter
- Place the dog biscuit cut-outs on lightly greased cookie sheet
- Bake the cookies for 30 minutes
- Place on cooling racks and allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes
Leftover trail mix
To create a flavorful trail mix, combine any of the following leftovers from your refrigerator.
Ingredients
Pieces of meat (rinse if seasoned)
Fruits (no raisins or grapefruits)
Vegetables (no onions)
Potatoes
Directions
- Cut ingredients into ½ inch thick pieces
- Lightly spray with cooking spray
- Place into a 200°F pre-heated oven or a food dehydrator until dried
